The Bishkek Daily Steingard has been Kyrgysztan's favourite newspaper for over 150 years. In that time we've experienced many incarnations of Truth, from the belabored idealism of the 1800s, to the exaltant boasting of Soviet occupation, to the languid sensationalism of today. Whatever the Truth was or needed to be, we were there to report it, either piercing or contributing to the cynical ignorance of the common man, according to the dictates of the times.

And today, as post-Soviet Kyrgysztan climbs steadily towards a dizzying zenith of intellectual grandeur, The Bishkek Daily Steingard is proud to outsource the Truth to the once great Americas, for easy viewing on your spigot or home computing device.

Though the Bishkek Daily Steingard has done well to disseminate the Truth from the darkest corners of political oppression, our reach has always been stifled by the limited mediums of language, ideology, and paper. The Jewel of Kyrgysztan.

Helmut Kravitz (1889-1975) was born to a shoe salesman and a poetess before his literary birth as Kyrgyzstan's favourite intellectual son. Although most of his work was repressed and destroyed before it reached the light of day, we imagine that he was one of the great minds of the last (or any century), and that his influence would have likely heralded a golden era for art and literature in our small but glorious nation.
